Redhill Robins Pre-School

Welcome to Redhill Robins Pre-school

Redhill Robins Pre-School is a purpose built preschool and nursery for children ages 2 to 4 years old. Our strong key worker system, ensures your child receives the best individualised learning support. Adults work alongside families to build and embed key life skills such as speech, self-confidence, listening and attention and physical development. We aim to prepare children for their next steps in education and help them to transition into school.

At Redhill, we work as a team to embed our school values, creating an ethos of respect, ambition and resilience. Adults act as role models for children, working as co-regulators, helping them to develop good learning behaviours and remain safe. We feel that children’s ability to identify, express and regulate their own emotions plays a vital role later life success. Using stories, songs and role play, we helping child children to build resilience, form positive relationships and develop their self-esteem.

At Redhill Preschool, we promote independence both in school and at home. Children are supported to take ownership of their own self-help skills including safety, hygiene and toilet care.

Children learn through play, exploring and discovering the world around them. We plan for individual children, at an age appropriate level, providing experiences and activities that promote resilience and problem solving. Children have freedom to explore the setting, leading their own play, guided by responsive and caring adults. Through quality interactions and ongoing focused assessments. adults provide activities that cater to children’s interests and next developmental steps.

Our outdoor area is used daily to promote our children’s physical health and well-being. Through a range of activities and resources, we support and challenge our children as they develop their gross motor skills such as running, jumping, balancing and climbing. We feel that the outdoors provides an excellent environment for developing social skills, speaking and listening and mark making. Learning outside creates an atmosphere of exploration, imagination and problem solving. It encourages children to use their senses to explore the world around them.

At Redhill Robins Pre-School, we begin our journey as early readers and writers by prioritising speech and language development. Our practitioners, champion reading and talk, by sharing a wide range of high-quality texts, helping children to retell and perform their favourite stories and rhymes. Adults model speaking and listening through interactions and conversations with children helping them to embed and expand prior knowledge and vocabulary. We aim to work in partnership with children, families and colleagues to provide a safe, caring and inspiring learning environment both at home and at school. We want to help children to establish a love of learning from an early age and be excited to begin their journey on the road to school readiness.
